Construction of cement concrete roads in Ukraine over the past 10 years has been a forgotten technology, but with the growth of freight traffic and the growth of the actual weight of freight vehicles in the road industry of Ukraine revived the idea of construction of cement concrete roads, which have a number of significant advantages over asphalt concrete, which primarily consist in the ability to work on a high load.
The state Agency of Ukrainian highways "Ukravtodor" grants a number of transport corridors which are characterized by considerable intensity first of all of the heavy-load vehicles. As a rule, such transport corridors connect large industrial centers or port areas. The first road needs to get a new pavement for this project is the General use road of the state value R52 (Н31) Dnipropetrovsk – Tsarychanka – Kobeliaky – Reshetylivka.
The first section on this road where the reconstruction is carried out is the section on 129 + 400-km 131 + 140. At the specified section of the highway specialists of the "European Road-Construction Company" LLC are laying the top layer of a coating from cement-concrete mixture. The thickness of the coating layer is 26 cm. After the completion of the reconstruction, the road will correspond to the first technical category and will have separate transits for each direction with a width of 10.50 m each (2 lanes in each direction).
On the road construction involved concrete-laying complexes of the German company Wirtgen, which have been most proven in the construction of cement-concrete coatings of highways and airfields. The production of cement concrete mixtures for the road construction established on our own high-performance cement-concrete factory Simem MMX500 that is located near the construction site.
Since the construction of cement concrete roads is a fairly new type of construction in the road industry of Ukraine, considerable attention is paid to the areas under construction, both from the actual state Agency of highways "Ukraine" and from the State Road Research Institute and from representatives of the media.
The status of the object as of November 2018 - Work continues on the arrangement of the upper layer of cement concrete coating on the right road of the highway. Completion of the work is scheduled for 2019.
The status of the object as of April 2019 - from the begining of building season the joint installing works were started. This works are the final step in concrete pavement construction.
The status of the facility as of July 2019 – after completion of all work on the construction of a cement concrete pavement on the right lane of the N-31 (P-52) road at km 129+400 – km 131+140, the constructed road section was opened to traffic.
The status of the facility as of July 2020 - construction works on the left road of the highway were started in June. During June 2020 subbase layer of soilcement was constructed. From the begininig of July concrete base arrangement was started. Till 15 of July cencrete works were completed. Arrangement of the upper layer of cement concrete coating on the left road of the highway are going to start up to the end of July.
The status of the facility as of September 2020 - works on the installation of cement-concrete pavement on the left passage are 100% completed, including the installation of expansion joints. Traffic is open on the constructed section of the road.
