European Road-Construction Company LLC takes part in the reconstruction of the terminal D platform of Boryspil International Airport. The project envisages the almost twice expansion of the existing platform in front of the terminal D with construction of a new connecting taxiway for the routing of aircraft from the platform to the main taxiway track.
In addition to construction of artificial coverings of the platform, the project of reconstruction contains next goals: to set up a drainage network with the installation of a linear drainage system of a polymer concrete elements, power supply networks, communication networks and a number of specialized airport security systems such as light signaling equipment, aircraft loading system, platform lighting system etc.
From July 2018, the object began the implementation of preparatory and earthworks, within which was dismantled a number of existing buildings on a service territory of the airport. The total amount of earthwork that needs to be carried out in the scope of the reconstruction of the platform is about 250 000 m3, the total area of artificial coatings - is about 110 000 m2.
On the part of the operational services of the airport, quite strict requirements were set for the organization of construction works in the conditions of the existing airport with strict observance of safety rules on the territory of the enterprise because the Boryspil International Airport is the main air harbor of our country.
The status of the object as of November 2018 - preparatory work has been carried out to dismantle the existing buildings on the service territory that fell into the airport construction zone. Earthworks continue. Harvesting works for filling of the embankment of the roadbed are carried out. Works on the device of the system of drainage are begun. Completion of the work is scheduled for 2019.
The status of the object as of April 2019 - subgrade construction works are carrying on on the construction site.
The status of the facility as of July 2019 – work in progress on the construction of the embankment of the subgrade in the area of paved apron, the construction of the subbase of soil cement, M40 grade, 15 cm thick, and the base course of B15 lean concrete, 30 cm thick, work in progress on the installation of a storm water drainage system, as well as work on the tamping of existing artesian water-supply wells.
The status of the facility as of September 2019 – work in progress on the construction of an embankment of subgrade in the area of paved apron with removal of swamp material, the arrangement of the subbase of soil cement, M40 grade, 15 cm thick, and the base course of B15 lean concrete, 30 cm thick, work is in progress on cutting expansion joints, their expansion and pouring with bitumen-polymer mastic. Preparatory work has begun for the arrangement of the upper layer of cement concrete B40, 0.45 m thick. Work on sanitary tamping of existing artesian water wells has been completed, drilling of a new well of Cenomanian aquifer, 150 m deep, has been completed, construction of an access road with hard surface to a new well is in progress.
The status of the object as of November 2019 - works on the installation of the upper layer of B40 cement concrete cover, thickness 0.45 m, with the Wirtgen SP1500 concrete-laying complex on the platform are continuing. In addition, a set of works on the installation of expansion joints in the cement-concrete coating is performed.
